In fourth grade, my teacher gave us an assignment to write a limerick. I wrote 47, and made a little book of them with a whale on the front. That was the moment I knew I wanted to be a writer. At 15, I picked up the guitar and began to devote most of my free time to sitting in my room writing songs, singing covers by Bob Dylan and Annie Lennox, and generally feeling like I was going to explode from the depth of my teenage angst. At 17, I began to seriously doodle and draw, and started to create comics a year later.
Over 20 years later, my first novel was published. My dream of one day being able to do my creative work full time has never wavered, although my belief in that happening does waver quite a bit. What has not wavered is my belief in the power and value of writing, music, and art in all its manifestations. This blog is a platform for me to share the news of my work, but also to get into the behind-the-scenes of it.
I hope you enjoy my blog! Send me a message and I’ll do my best to get back to you.
